Project OXCART, carried out by the infamous Area 51 , was a project to test the A-12 in the 1950’s. Area 51 was and is dedicated to testing air craft that is in development just as the A-12 was at the time. However, sometimes tests can go awry, just a low altitude test of the A-12 did. The plane crashed, leaving debris scattered about and in plain sight of civilians. What could follow a crash of a secret government plane besides a government cover up and clean up? Photographs have recently been declassified showing the crash site, and an aerospace historian searches for small bits of the A-12, though at the time everything was done to keep the plane as secret as possible.
