I'm personally a bit suspicious of the Master Sergeant's story, because it seems incredible that a "bunker guard" would be able to show him anything classified, let alone a living alien. Wouldn't there have been pretty tight secrecy then? It was just after WW 2, and the military would have had established all sorts of security protocols that were still operational in 1950.
