I live on the shores of Lake Erie. I saw lights that looked like this one night a few years ago over the lake. Two of them, they were just hovering way offshore. Probably 3-5 miles away. Then they took off in different directions one easterly and one westerly. They zoomed off the horizon in less than a second.
