I live about 3 hours from the North Carolina beach mentioned. There are many military bases in the area, the state ranks in the top 5 of states with U.S. military installations. The red light images look like flares, perhaps held up by paratroopers doing a night fall.
Seems o'l fred heard there's been strange noises on that coast along with ufo's. Some moanin and groanin from down deep and some banging on steel kettle sounds.... kinda like the Mrs. after a big meal...
