Ever since humans first looked into the night sky in wonderment they were sure there had to be MORE to it all than just life and death. Every clan created their own belief to dispell the fears of the inevitable Death that comes to ALL but no matter your belief, Death is as permanent for you as it was for the bug you so thoughtlessly stepped on just because it was there.
