Strange object photographed in Puerto Rico

This picture of UFO was recorded in Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico in early December 2009.

“I was photographing the moon and when I viewed the photos on my computer, I noticed a bright object to the right of the moon. It almost looks like a typical flying saucer. I am an astronomer, with three publications in Astronomy magazine, so I can explain away things like it being a satellite, airplane, helicopter or internal reflection but I send you this because I honestly do not know what it could be. The camera was a Kodak Z740 Digital camera set at F/3.6 for 8 seconds and ISO at 100.”
