If that's the case, they sure did a good job preparing us. At least I am totally prepared for it. If they came here now and revealed the whole galactic federation or whatever, I would just be like, "awesome, let's get up there" :)
I don't know why people have a problem with this concept. 1930's Hollywood was asked to play down the gangster/tough guy roles for popular actor's of the day. "Dramatization of Evil" they cslled it.
