Lichtensteiger first thought that the lights were from a helicopter but he did not see anything when the lights disappeared. The lights came back on and then kept flashing on and off, all at different times, says the witness. According to his estimates, there were 5 or 6 lights and all were stationary in the sky.
Lichtensteiger mentions he can’t come up with a solid explanation about the identity of the lights as well as anyone he has spoken, which include the Army.
In one of the reports about the incident, a commenter says that he has seen similar lights before. He identifies the lights as para gliders circling with their wings catching the sunlight and they seemingly disappeared as they change angle. He points out that nothing alien in this case; just the ability of mankind to believe what he wants to see or what he was told to see.
