My understanding is JFK was interested in the space race (USA/USSR). One has to remember The Bay of Pigs debacle, talk of leaving Viet Nam, etc, I feel there were far more important issue than UFO's. Besides military and contact groups had the UFO thing in hand. For an assassination to happen much more important issues combined with the mind set of the era than UFOS.
