Space exploration has not changed one bit since the 50's but instead of using Kerosene, they use liquid hydrogen/oxygen to get a rocket into orbit. Until that changes, scientists develop electro magnetic propulsion using Earths atmosphere as a buffer/leverage and developing in-space solar radiation as a means to travel through space, then we will just stand still. Might be a good thing though, with all the crap happening on the planet, keeping it Earthly might be a good idea..
